Great trimmer head replacement Sep 03, 2009 Grass gator trimmer heads have always worked great for me.This one loads easy. Its tough.Easy to change the replacement lines.

Well engineered, poor choice of materials. Sep 07, 2008 I bought the "heavy duty" grass gator for my cub cadet 4 cycle..it worked well when new, but then the blades started wearing much faster than advertised, now the center section, which is made of plastic, has stripped, which makes the grass gator useless. Plastic seems OK on the outside parts, but should not have been used where 100% of the torque is being released. I plan on trying to use what I can of the gator and make my own, TRUE heavy duty unit.

The best trimmer head May 28, 2008 I've been using this attatchment on my Echo 210 (highly recommend) for about three months. It is without a doubt one of the the best tools I own. I live in a semi-wetland with a lot of blackberries and comfry.
I went over the entire property with a circular metal blade to clear a lot of the heavier duty sticks. I then use the Echo/Gatorhead to maintain and it works flawlessly. It is so fast, never gets tangled with grass and just flat kicks @ss. The only downside is if you hit a lot of rocks and such the blades don't hold up. However, you can turn the blades over and then replace when that side is damaged. For tough weedeating this is the only way to fly.

Not Homelite unless you can weld Apr 16, 2008 MODIFIED REVIEW EXPLAINING RETROFIT. Do not buy if you have a Homelite trimmer as it will not fit unless you can weld; the way to fit it to a homelite, is to go get a RH thread 5/16x1.25 bolt (about the size of the LH thread bolt you get with the package) and a 3/8 nut which you run up the 5/16 bolt to its head and weld the heads together. Take the bump knob off the existing bail and add a couple of space washers (a couple of lock washers work very well, as they are thicker) to the shaft, and install the GrassGator using your newly welded bolt.

The Best Line Trimmer attachment Mar 24, 2008 Cuts grass like a lawn mower, it does not hack the grass as line trimmers do.
Blades tend to bend after some tough use - I think because the Stainless Steel is inflexible when the blades come into contact with solid walls, rockeries etc.
For great lawn trimming worth every cent, I bought 2 more to give to friends - thats how good this Grass Gator is.
