Best Tiller on the Market Apr 30, 2009 Awesome tiller. I've used this tiller for three years now, and it's never had a single problem. It's never been in the shop, and it usually starts with only one pull of the string. It will cut through tree roots and dig all the way to China if you need it to. Great for weeding or clearing beds, and I even use it to dig holes for planting trees and shrubs. We've used a Mantis in the past, but the Honda is far superior in my opinion.
In response to the previous poor review, the manual is very clear in advising to leave it "upright" at all times. If you follow that advice like I have, I doubt you will have any carburetor or any other problems out of this tiller. With a lawn mower/pressure washer/etc, they are on four wheels so you don't have to be as careful about leaving it upright. If you left them tilted or laying on their side, I can almost guarantee that you would have the same problems that that guy had with any gas tool of any brand.

Unreliable - uncharacteristic! Apr 09, 2008 We used this tiller to till around vegetables and fruit trees. It was continually in the shop, primarily for carb and fuel line problems....6 times in less than 36 months for the same issues. By this time, we have decided it is cost effective to turn it into scrap and buy something else.It was quiet when running but it was un-Honda in reliability. I think Honda needs to re-engineer thisd little 4 cycle engine.
FOLLOW-UP: None of our equipment has ever been mistreated or abused, or stored on its side. Even the repair shop told us that Honda had an unusual number of problems with the gas system on this model.
