 low power in reverse Jul 13, 2007
The Poulan Pro 26 hp tractor has hydrostatic transmission. There is no adjustment capability on the linkage. I had to return my tractor after taking it to an approved repairman. The tractor didn't have enough power in reverse to go up the ramp on my trailer. The tractor may be acceptable if you are mowing flat areas and/or don't anticipate going in reverse up hills. They should have designed the tractor such that the transmission linkage could be adjusted... or made sure this problem didn't exist (When the repairman called the company they were aware of others having this problem).

What a fantastic price for a great mower. Everywhere else I looked the price was almost double and Amazon shipped it for free. I'm completely satisfied with the product and with Amazon.com

The GREAT ONE!!! Jun 26, 2007
I ordered this Tractor on 05/17/07. I was informed that it would be delivered between 5/25 - 5/30. Well I received it on 5/24/07. Needless to say I was very impressed, because this item was shipped free of charge. (Normally a $300.00 charge) This tractor was shipped from Cincinnati, OH and I live north of Albuquerque, NM. Amazon you ROCK!!!
Now for the tractor, it arrived at my house at about 10:45am in a big box. I opened the box to find a brand new Poulan Pro Garden Tractor with a 54" yes, I said 54" mower deck. I attached the deck in about 40 min. without any problems what so ever. I didn't even have to level the deck.
I started the tractor and set off to show my yard who was the Boss.
I have just over 1 acre that normally would take me about 6hrs to mow with my 22" walk behind mower. I was able to cut the yard in about 1.5 hrs. Seeing the 54" swath that this mower leaves behind is impressive to say at the very least. The automatic transmition is 1 more great feature of this tractor. You just press down on the forward peddle and go. press down more and go faster. Let off and stop. Press down on the reverse peddle and you are going backward. Let off and you stop.
I recommend this tractor to anyone with a big yard. Oh yah! It also has a cup holder and a 12 volt power outlet to plug in your Ipod or whatever you need 12 volts for. This Tractor will run about 5.5 hrs with the mower deck running at full throttle on the large 4 gallon fuel tank. I could go on and on but, I think you get the idea. "A Great Deal"
